Hello, new beta release is looking great, just came to make some observations and ask a few things:

Version i'm using currently (see post end) freezes when copying large files most cores hitting up to 100%, can't even capture a screengrab during this time and everything becomes very slow like the KDE application launcher etc

Also more-so than Stable the Unstable release opens programs very slowly even on an SSD, this also happened to me with KDE on Debian and Kubuntu?

Thank you so much for all the hard work

Installed with LVM + Encryption from Kubuntu installer
Info:
Operating System: Kubuntu 21.10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.13.0-19-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor
Memory: 23.4 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER/PCIe/SSE2

Update: Fresh install, not using LVM + encryption still uses 18 - 40% of CPU but it's much better so far (and improving in idle), with cores going back and forth to 100% momentarily copying a file from a USB - first thing I did besides enabling the desktop widget to show CPU use. In general the stuttering / freezing seems to have stopped or been significantly reduced. Installing a backup from steam starts to jump the cpu up to around 17-50% which I assume is usual for decompressing / installing. In general this seems far, far better - not sure if this is a Kubuntu specific issue with LVM & encryption as I had similar issues with performance under Debian (especially delay in launching apps).

E2:Proton games work fine but native Steam (from official .deb) CS:GO shows a black window then crashes to desktop
Edit 2: Running Steam in flatpak fixes this issue, I now assume it's a problem with Steam's package or Kubuntu for that part - not sure where to report this.

E3: Steam install won't run native cs:go still updated as of 16/10/21 not sure if this is a problem with KDE or Kubuntu but I solved this by using the flatpak version of steam, this then requires the use of an unofficial build of steam proton to run proton games ( flatpak install com.valvesoftware.Steam.CompatibilityTool.Proton-GE ) hope this helps some one anyway , hopefully it's only a temporary solution
