Can the Activities Manager be configured? Specifically, to have smaller thumbnails for each Activity?
Even on my 4K screens, the Activities Manager only shows 7 thumbnails at a time. Now, I really like Activities, and on some systems I have more than 7 of them configured. On those systems, 7 thumbnails are displayed, and the user is forced to scroll that thumbnail list to find the others. This is inconvenient and inelegant. It would be very nice if: a) the Activities Manager automatically adjusted its size to fit all of the Activities on the screen. On high resolution screens, far more than seven could be displayed. or b) the Activities Manager was configurable so that a user could scale down those thumbnails manually, in order to fit all of their Activities on the screen. Obviously a) is not the current implementation. I have searched quite a bit, but have been unable to find anything regarding the possibility of b). If that exists somewhere, please let me know -- thanks. |

You are actually talking about the Activity Pager, not the Activity Manager which has no thumbnails.
FWIW, right click on it will show you the options you have. If I set it to vertical the thumbnails are very small, due to the fact it is in the Panel and therefore limited by the height of the panel, but I only use 3 Activities. I presume you have it as a widget on the desktop. Try setting it in an additional Panel on the side?

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

We are talking about the slide-out Activity Switcher applet thingie, not a pager widget.
It looks like the panel thumbnail may be hard coded. if it is a qml widget, it might be editable, but I have no idea if it is, yet.

As noted by the previous respondent, you are talking about a different feature. Right-clicking on the "slide-out Activity Switcher" does nothing at all. Thanks to both, though. |
