I have a 3 monitor setup. This is a desktop system and the monitors are always attached and kscreen disabled. I've been running a similar setup with KDE/Plasma for many years without any problems. However, recently (about a month or so) I began having problems with session restoration when my monitors wake up from sleeping. When the monitors wake up the application windows are generally not restored to their original position. Most of the time windows from the non primary window are all moved to the central monitor. But this is not 100% consistent. Sometimes windows stay where they are and sometimes windows only move partially onto the primary monitor.
I have 9 virtual workspaces with each having windows positioned on various monitors. Having to rearrange dozens of windows every time my monitors wake up is a huge productivity killer. So much so that I've had to switch over to a different desktop environment because of it. My system is running Gentoo using OpenRC. I started a thread on the Gentoo forums, but I though I would post here since I was not able to resolve the issue there. I'd be happy to provide more information, but I'm not sure where to begin. |
