Wayland still not working properly with KRDC

If I tunnel through a Bastion host with openvpn and then log into a remote Windows session with KRDC, the usability depends on whether I'm on Xorg11 or Wayland. Under X, it all works as expected. Under Wayland, there's an extra app window, FreeRDP, and the remote window's local controls--minimize, disconnect, etc.--are not available. Under X, I would disconnect from or minimize the remote session, and I'd be back at the local KRDC app window. Under Wayland, I can't do any of that; I have to Alt-Ctrl-Esc from the FreeRDP app window, and then I'm back to the KRDC window. [Lenovo P1 Gen 3 with NVIDIA proprietary drivers; Plasma 5.23.5 and also prior dot versions; kernel 5.16 and also prior dot versions]

I'm fine continuing to use X11, but that's in maintenance mode and Wayland appears currently to be the future. It would be nice to get this all to work under Wayland.

I'm not a developer, so I cannot help on that front. Is there any way to contribute other than posting these "doesn''t work" notices?
