Start kde from putty remote access

Wed Mar 09, 2022 2:27 pm
My desktop has KDE Plasma 5 as it's screen manager. Love it!

On a regular basis, I need to login to this machine from a Windows PC (ugh!) using putty.

I have VcXsrv installed on this machine, and use it on a regular basis on other machines that have x installed on them.

Normally, on those machines I open xterm upon login, however I'd rather have kde as a desktop on the machines that have it installed.

How do I start the kde desktop on a machine with a remote connection? startkde fails because I have kde running already on the main screen.
Is there way I set kde to start on all connections?
