Fingerprint reader issues

Tue Mar 22, 2022 6:10 am
Hi,

I'm having a couple of issues with fingerprint sensor support that will be listed below:

I can only add fingerprints to one user for some reason. I tried to add fingerprints for both user accounts on my computer and I found that when trying to add fingerprints to another account, during the fingerprint enroll process, it won't go through.

Unlocking the computer after sleep with fingerprint login enabled prompts me for my password first, and then my fingerprint. I've also found that repeatedly trying to authenticate using the wrong finger will eventually just end up with my computer unlocking anyway.

I also know that fingerprint unlock doesn't work with SDDM, but I'm personally fine with it not working in SDDM.

Despite all of this, the fingerprint sensor still works as expected in the terminal and when authenticating for PolicyKit1

I'm currently running the following:

OS: Fedora Linux 35 (KDE Plasma) x86_64
Host: Laptop AB
Kernel: 5.16.15-201.fc35.x86_64
Uptime: 35 mins
Packages: 2669 (rpm), 16 (flatpak)
Shell: bash 5.1.8
Resolution: 2256x1504
DE: Plasma 5.24.3
WM: KWin
Theme: Breeze Dark [Plasma], Adwaita [GTK2]
Icons: [Plasma], breeze-dark [GTK2/3]
Terminal: konsole
CPU: 11th Gen Intel i7-1165G7 (8) @ 4.700GHz
GPU: Intel TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics]
Memory: 5671MiB / 15775MiB

I'm also running this on the Framework Laptop.

Solutions/workarounds are greatly appreciated

thanks
