KDenlive, Clementine, Mixx and likely many more apps rendered un-usable due to critical bug with folder open and file save dialog bugs in the audio apps and with saving the Kdenlive document after editing. I suspect OBS maybe affected but is somehow able to still work, it takes a long time to quit.
In all cases the app appears to freeze and if you are lucky it is possible to understand it's due to a file dialog showing. Just now I see: Choose music library directory (~/Music is selected) but i have no way to accept the dialog. press enter, return, click the OK button, use alt-tab and then tab a lot, try meta-desktop and back, f3, resizing the window not help. control-alt-f2 into TTY and back not help, NOTHING seems to ever allow me to clear this and it maybe there when / if i logout next. Alt-F4 does not close this. So I cant set my library on Clementine or Mixx, and can not save files in Kdenlive, I reckon it maybe a theme issue: Oxygen - app style & plasma Colors - breeze classic customised by me Window decorations - Plastik window border size Large Fonts - all 12 point Icons - breeze Cursors - redglass Launch feedback - 12 seconds yeah a lot of apps have this weird timeout issue Fonts - 1,048 fonts - hey why is this a power of two, hangon, no that would be 1024 all good. Splash -= breeze Boot splash - Fedora-Core--1-Boo Also there is a critical issue on my machine. If I do full updates and reboot, xwindows is dead as soon as I see "Starting Display Manager". I can use safe-mode to open startx in 800x600 with no driver. I always have to fully revert system with timeshift. sudo apt list shows 92,000 programs installed (!?). apt list upgradable only says Listing... Done Discover says 632 updates are available (maybe I blame Discover for this situation) Everytime I do fully upgrade / upgrade my system, it usually says Starting Display Manager and never does". Maybe I will leave it for 15 minutes one day, but normally I just reverb changes using timeshift. In logs I see something about "nomodeset" and it crashes when trying to upgrade the screen resolution on my AOC 4k and Dell 1280x1024 displays. Also I see a lot of this when mining eth:
In some ways it seeems similar to other issues: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=173302&p=450516&hilit=display+manager#p450516 viewtopic.php?f=66&t=173888&p=452304&hilit=display+manager#p452304 |

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
