I wonder if this long delay to the 22.04 is due only to firefox snap problem. If so, and there is nothing more serious, I think that it could be possible, and better, to switch to 22.04. I'm wrong?

Hanging out in IRC/matrix, I would say no, not entirely. I have been testing the upgrade fro a number of weeks, and today's Plasma 5.26 upgrade had some decent dependency issues due to some small system changes I did not get. That issue had zero to do with Firefox. They fix one thing, and another seems to pop up. I'd say wait a spell. Unless you like fixing things. I do, some of the time.

I upgraded to the Kubuntu 22.04.1 point release once it was released and have had very few issues. Firefox has been working well for me. The only issue I've had might be the sandboxing seems to block it from becoming the default browser. It works well otherwise for my usage. I did a clean install on my SSD though as I always do, if that makes a difference. Also do you have backports enabled? I don't and I'm still on Plasma 5.24.6 as of this post. |

KDE Neon doesn't use or need Kubuntu's PPAs If you want Plasma 5.25 on your Kubuntu system you would need to add their Backports PPA plus their Backports-Extra PPA https://kubuntu.org/news/plasma-5-25-fo ... e-via-ppa/ I am unsure if they plan to have 5.26 for Jammy, but it will be in the upcoming 22.10 release later this month iirc.

Ah sorry I didn't notice your OS was Neon. I tried it a few times, but it's too bleeding edge for me and I don't like working with issues as I need a stable OS for our home network and keep coming back to Kubuntu LTS releases. No backports for me. ![]() |
