If I want to select files I must click on the plus '+' sign or hold the ctrl-key.
Since I'm a minimalist ![]() How can I change the selection behaviour of konqueror v4.1.3? B.t.w. I'm using (ubuntu's) gnome. Regards, Hansa

You still can use the mouse to drag and select files. Could you please elaborate on the selection behaviour you are after?

In older versions of konqueror it was possible to select a file by clicking right next to the file name. I prefer such behaviour.

I do not believe that is currently possible ( at least there is no GUI option for it in options and neither Konqueror nor Dolphin obey this behaviour ). I would say it was changed to the '+' symbol because of usability, however it is slow because of the hover time.
I would recommend filing a feature request asking for an option to have the area instantly clickable / '+' symbol always there. Note that you will have to wait till at least 4.3 if it is implemented ( feature freeze currently in effect )

So they removed and implemented a new selection feature and removed the old selection scheme. Therefore forcing users to the new scheme. Not very user friendly IMO. Nevertheless I have no problems with the hover time. Here it works instantly and I don't have to wait for the + to select a file. The selection area is just to small. I don't want to open a file/folder if I miss the +.
Where can I file the request?

You could always switch to "Single click on select, double click to open". Navigate to KMenu -> Applications -> System -> System Settings -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse to do so.

I'm using gnome (ubuntu), Can you tell me the command (prompt) for running "Keyboard and Mouse"?

Launch it by pressing Alt+F2 and typing in:

If this issue is resolved, could you please add [SOLVED] to the start of the thread subject? Thanks.
