The show desktop applet for the panel minimizes all windows. However, if I then click on an icon to open a new window, then all the windows that were minimized by the show desktop applet will pop back up.
How do I change this behavior? Thanks

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't it supposed to do that? Show desktop "shows" the desktop, minimizing/moving away all visible windows and would bring them back up if you change to focus to any of the minimized windows.

Well that's not the desired behavior for me, anyway... and that's not the default behavior for Windows, Compiz, nor Gnome.
So is there a way to make the kde applet stop behaving "correctly" and start behaving like all the other "crazy" window managers out there? |

There could be a KWin shortcut/action which does "minimize all windows" instead of "show desktop".
Or maybe using a different window manager than KWin. Cheers, _

"Show Desktop", by default, is not "Minimize All" in KDE. To make it behave like that, put this line in ~/.kde/share/config/kwinrc under the [Windows] group
