Hello!

I've installed qt-copy and kde with kdesvn-build to /usr/local/kde. I've also exported the path and lib-path variables, so my gentoo machine can start kdm with it's default xdm init script. But I can't login with any user. kdm doesn't recognize my password. So does krunner_lock, if I start a kde session with startkde through the .xinitrc file. If my screen becomes locked, I can't unlock it anymore and have to switch to a framebuffer and kill krunner_lock.

How can I solve this issue?

Kind regards
Konstantin

I believe this problem has something to do with PAM, I believe if you read the kdesvn-build logs for kdebase you will find it is trying to add to /etc/pam.d/ but can't. You may need to perform one run as root, which should resolve the problem. ( Note: Running kdesvn-build as root is not recommended, you will probably need to recursively change ownership back to your user in the build directories and KDE 4 install prefix )

Hello!

Thank you for your anwser. It's a pitty, that I didn't receive an anwser notification message. I came here again to tell, that I solved this problem by creating a /etc/pam.d/kde file.

Kind regards
Konstantin
