Hi!
I'm planning to switch to kde with the upcoming 4.2 release. There is one thing that annoys me with konquerer and that is the lack of an individual sorting option for each folder. I want my download folder to be sorted by date and the rest by name. Why can't there be an option stored in the ".directory"-file? So my question is, can dolphin handle this? If not, is it planned? If not, how can I request this feature? I don't think I'm the only one who is missing this feature. btw: Thanks to the developer/kde-community for making kde such a great desktop!

Yes, dolphin does that (separate sorting for separate folders)
Here is a .directory file content:
EDIT: Sorting values range from 1 to 6. For no sorting value, it is sorted by name. Sorting=2 for date. You can also set SortOrder=1 for reverse sorting.

LII, where did you get that marvellous piece of info from? I'm after all sorts of info on manipulating KDE4 on the command line and have so far only amassed this link http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdebase-r ... ators.html which I believe is for KDE3 - do you have any more gems like that?

That came out as I was looking into code for the view action handler. (kdebase-4.1.3/apps/dolphin/src/dolphinactionhandler.cpp) Would tell you if I find more like this ![]()
Please add a [SOLVED] to the title. Thank you!
