slow root access

Wed Dec 17, 2008 2:25 pm
Since I've had fedora 5 I've noticed that in Konqueror when navigating through my hard drive that when I go down to root (/), it takes considerably longer to populate its contents. I'm not 100% sure this is a kde thing, but when in a terminal and I cd to / and type ls, the results come back just fine. Does anybody else have this problem / know how to fix it?

thanks

Probably now a KDE issue, as it works fine here. (Konq 4.1.80)
Also, as / does not have many folders to list, it should not take much time. What are your PC specs?

yeah, it seems as though konqueror does the same thing under gnome. When I try to access my filesystem with firefox, it works just fine. I guess I will look for updates and check out konqueror.
