Uninstall konqueror

Fri Dec 19, 2008 11:20 am
hi!
Now that we have dolphin, is it possible to uninstall koqueror? Or is it so deep-rooted like internet explorer in windows that is not recommended?

RE: Uninstall konqueror

As konqueror does not have system wide dependencies, you can remove it.
For me in Kubuntu, trying to remove konqueror removes these two packages only, so it shouldn't be a problem:
Code: Select all
sayak@Musik-24x7:~$ sudo apt-get remove konqueror
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  konqueror konqueror-plugin-searchbar kubuntu-konqueror-shortcuts
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 3 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
After this operation, 3940kB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? n
Abort.
