I have recently installed Fedora 10 on my laptop. I use Gnome but I also use several KDE applications such as Kate.
The present version of Kate (V3.1.3) has some charming new features than the one I have used with Fedora 8. But there are mainly two things I don't like, both are of the plugins of Kate. I wander it is the same on other machine or it is only me who has these problems. 1: The FileSystem Browser: I'd like to open files in the FileSystem Browser by "double-click". But in the present version it is single-click to open. Sometimes it is rather annoying because I actually don't want to open those files in Kate. 2: The terminal plugin automatically synchronizes the terminal with the current document. This is essentially very good. The problem is that with the present version it will ALWAYS synchronize even if all files opened are actually in the same directory. The old version of this terminal plugin is much smarter. Is there any solutions for these two problems? Or I just have to wait the update of Kate? |

For 1: Goto System Settings -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse -> Double click to open... option.
Restart kate and you should be able to open using double clicks. |

I am using Gnome, so I use the command "systemsettings" to make the settings. It does not work. It should be KDE-wide. But it actually does not control Kate very well... |

If the setting is not being honored by Kate, then please search for, and if it does not exist, file a bug regarding this.
Regarding the Terminal plugin: search for and if one does not exist, please file a feature request on the KDE bug tracker KDE Bug Tracker: bugs.kde.org
