Hello I just installed Kde 4.2 on Ubuntu Ibex with help from this forum. The only thing bothering me is the way firefox and other windows looks(they look bad). Look at the Firefox address bar, etc in the image. Image.

I've tried using Emerald with compiz still no good.

Lastly, how do I make Launchy to start at boot???

I don't use Ubuntu, but I think it's

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gtk-qt-engine-kde4

or
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gtk-qt-engine

This will install the gtk-qt-engine. You can customize the options in System Settings -> Appearance -> GTK Styles and Fonts.

To make Firefox look better, you might want to try one of those themes: Oxygen / KFirefox.

First of all, you might want to try KRunner (Alt+F2), the default "launcher" in KDE4. If you still want Launchy (I didn't know it worked on Linux!), you can open System Settings -> Advanced tab -> Autostart and choose "Add Program...".

There's no need for the last part. Once launched once using alt-f2, it is started automatically using the session management system. It did for me anyway :)

True. But since the OP asked, I assumed that it didn't work for Launchy. Thanks for pointing it out though.
