At first I thought it was cute, now it gets into my face... Can somebody please tell me how to turn off the popup notification whenever I move something to trash?

hmmm, IIRC I never got a window when I just deleted one file. Am I getting old??

Which KDE version are you using? I think they fixed that in 4.2, at least for the Plasma notifications (no notification if you just delete a small file etc.). At any rate it's fixed in trunk if I remember correctly.

By the way, I just tried it in KDE 3.5.7; didn't get a window when I delete some small files. So no, you're not getting old (but my KDE version is. Gotta upgrade to 3.5.10/4.x sometime). ;)

Using KDE 4.2 from the Arch repos. I will try again with some smaller files, see if indeed the notifications stays away. Thanks for confirming I am not quite losing it yet... ;)

I just fixed my KDE4 build and tried it out (deleted some small files/empty directories). Can still reproduce. :(

Maybe I'm the one who's getting old, almost sure it was fixed in trunk...

Hmm, I tried deleting a couple of small files, and it gave me no notification. If there is some intelligence in this, it certainly is very fuzzy.....
