Hello
I like to start the shoutdown process via a keyshort cut like FN-key + F9 = start shutdown. How can I do this? 1. I do not want to run "shutdown -h now" I like to start the same as if I do right click, choose shutdown ( this might be the false translation, could also be exit) which command do i need to run? 2. I had a look at systemsettings -> keyboard shortcuts: but there is no option to assign a command to FN + eg. F9 The function key is placed between the right ALT and CTRL Key but this key does not seem to be a choosable otpion. I recall that in KDE 3 was a kind of mapping table for these key - is this also in KDE4 available, would the mapping of the FN key make it available to assign ? PS which command would I use to lock my session? THanks a lot -bushveld

Upps,
I forgot to test this... Any idea if I can set which function is default. Cool and fast would be ALT+CTRL+DEL then enter (as long as the default is what you want ) the current default is shutdown, i'd like to use lock.. by -bushveld

Your computer ( keyboard in particular ) must send a keypress event for the desired button combination ( Fn + F9 in this case ). Fn is a special key, that does not send keypresses, it merely modifies existing keys; is is likely that unless your keyboard has an icon on the F9 key, it will not work.

The keycode appears to be different so their should be no problem ( to the OS, it looks like one key was pressed )
