All,
Since I enable Desktop Effect on my Kubuntu-KDE4, my screen appear gray. It is impossible do do anything! Could anyone tell me how to revert the Desktop Effect enable from system prompt? Maciel |

Using you're text editor of preference ( vi, nano ) open the file $KDEHOME/share/config/kwinrc
Find the section "[Compositing]". find the line "Enabled=" and ensure that it is set to "false" You should then be able to login to KDE again.

Composite is a set of 3D extensions. Without them, most fancy effects cannot be done. I can only recommend ensuring that the appropriate graphics driver has been installed on your system ( ATI and NVidia in particular )
