[SOLVED] Desktop Effect problem on KDE 4

All,

Since I enable Desktop Effect on my Kubuntu-KDE4, my screen appear gray.
It is impossible do do anything!
Could anyone tell me how to revert the Desktop Effect enable from system prompt?

Using you're text editor of preference ( vi, nano ) open the file $KDEHOME/share/config/kwinrc
Find the section "[Compositing]". find the line "Enabled=" and ensure that it is set to "false"

You should then be able to login to KDE again.

Pls tell me, what the problem witj "composite"? The video board?

Composite is a set of 3D extensions. Without them, most fancy effects cannot be done. I can only recommend ensuring that the appropriate graphics driver has been installed on your system ( ATI and NVidia in particular )
