No problem, however the list you provided is the packages you have installed. I need to know which Plasmoids you have running on your Desktop ( As in the ones in your Panel, on the Desktop, etc. )

Those error messages can be ignored, they are a long standing bug the developers have been unable to trace.

Is it that??

Qt: 4.5.0
KDE: 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) "release 93"
Plasma Workspace: 0.3

I hope that`s it

That is indeed correct. However, Try removing all Plasmoids except the defaults and see if it still leaks memory.

hi

I have the same problem with plasma. beginning from today ~ 8:45 to now the memory is grown to 311 mb (startet with ~ 40 mb).

i kicket all my plasmoids from the dashboard. Only some icons and the Desptop Folder is there.

But when i open the "add miniapps" dialog, i can see, that the following is runnig:
(sorry, I use the german version, so i can only try to translate)

"Arbeitsflächen-Umschalter" -> workspace-switcher
BbalL
"Digitale Uhr" -> digital clock
Fensterleiste -> taskbar?
K-Menü
K-Menü (traditional)
"Miniprogramm für Kate-Sitzungsver.. " -> kate session app
Mülleimer -> trash
Ordner-Ansicht -> Folder View (Desktop)
Schnellzugriff -> fastaccess?
Systemabschnitt der Kontrollleiste -> system-tray?
Widget-Dashboard anzeichen -> view dashboard

user@nb:~$ LANG=C plasma -v
(25593)/ checkComposite: Plasma has an argb visual 0x1b9fe30 96468993
(25593)/ checkComposite: Plasma is COMPOSITE-less on 0x1b9ef10
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0)
Plasma Workspace: 0.3

how can we check, what eat the mem?

Your configurations or caches may be corrupt.
Try executing these two commands:
Code: Select all
rm -f $KDEHOME/share/config/plasm*
rm -f $KDEHOME/cache-$(hostname)/plasm*
rm -rf $KDEHOME/cache-$(hostname)/kpc/

ok... yesterday after my last post I also removed the BbalL app.

but the memory usage from plasma is now 630 mb.

I term now plasma, delete all your files and start plasma again.

Memory usage is now ~ 17 mb. report later whats changed.

EDIT:

Ok: 12:32 and plasma is crown up to 112 MB memory usage.

I dont think, that the instruction was so helpful :-(

EDIT:

what I have discovered is, that krunner also eat my memory.. i let it open, to monitor the memory usage and see, that krunner is at 290 mb (normally at start ~ 12mb). Should I open a new threat for this problem?
