Hi guys,

apparently Gimp's main toolbox window/dialog (gimp 2.6) cannot be minimized which is really annoying. Do you know whether I can tweak this somehow?

I've read something about forcing dialogs to act like normal windows or something like that, but didn't know how to do that. And I actually don't want that for all dialogs, just for Gimp. Any ideas?

TIA,
Blackhole

Man, I'm so stupid.
I thought you had to tweak a window manager setting. But obviously the window manager setting is in gimp's preferences itself.

Go to Gimp preferences --> window management --> window manager hints

Never mind. ;-)

Well, apart from that: I can recommend using Gimper (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.ph ... tent=88495). It's still a KDE3.x app, but if you don't mind having both KDE4/KDE3 libs as well as gtk-ones installed and loaded, it's a great utilility. The basic idea is that the toolbar is hidden from the desktop as well as the pager and taskbar unless the mousepointer is at the edge of the screen. When it is on the edge, you choose the tool you want and its options and move back to the image, and the toolbar is gone again.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be without it again.

Wow, thanks. Looks like a great gadget. I'll definitely try it.
