I updated openSuSE from 11.0 to 11.1 keeping KDE 3.5.10 Rel. 21.9 operational (i.e. I'm using it). In spite of selecting German, I now get a strange concoction of German and English. Example: The kmenu button expands to

'Recent Documents'
'My System'

among others, while the remainder of the menu is in German.
The same is true about other menus.

Is this the normal behavior?

This is possibly because those strings are not translated by the KDE German translations team yet. However it could be that Kicker has not picked up on the language changes fully. Try logging out and in again.
