Hi.
I'm using KDE 4.2 on Debian Lenny on Dell m1210 XPS. I'm used to switch keyboard layouts with the Menu key (between us-English and Farsi). Everything was working perfectly, until I installed keyTouch to fix the multimedia keys and it did fix the missing keys.

After shutdown/restart, I'm facing a problem: I can still switch keyboard layout using the Menu key, but the indicator (kxkb named I think) does not show the current layout. Purge/remove keyTouch did not help. I've googled but no luck.
Any idea?

P.S. This is my first post. So I'm not quite used to this forum. If anything is wrong please tell me. Thx.

Try reseting the configuration of KXKB.

Code: Select all
rm -rf $KDEHOME/share/config/kxkbrc

Thx. I did that but no luck. I noticed something:
It works when Keyboard Layout is open, otherwise it does not work at all.

Also, when I choose any other combination from advanced tab e.g. Menu key, When I press the key the layout changes but kxkb won't change at all. (unless I press alt+ctrl+K and the Keyboard Layout is open)

I have had lots of problems with keyboard layouts in Arch and KDE 4.2. One thing that helped me was to downgrade libxi from 1.2.0 to 1.1.4.

Well it is strange. Downgraded and the problem is partially solved. It now works with some keys but not the Menu Key. (Now on Alt+Shift) works. Thx.
