Keyboard

Tue Mar 03, 2009 11:57 am
Hello kde people...

I have Arch Linux with kde 4...Yesterday it was updates to kde 4.2.1 and I was extremely happy. Some problems solved, but some new problems appeared.First of all the greek fonts in my mounted devices appear like this "Νικολόπουλος Χρήστος" ...Secondly, when I press alt+shift, keyboard layout changes but the flag won't change. If I press ctrl+alt+c, which is my secondary layout switching shortcut, the layout changes...But I need alt+shift.I downgraded libxi to 1.1.4 because I read that this was the cause of the problem but nothing. :'(:-@:-S:-(

Ok I corrected the first mistake, the greek fonts are now fine...I don't know why but the update to 4.2.1 changed some settings in arch linux's /etc/rc.conf and had nothing for locale. But I still have a problem with the layouts...When I press alt+shift the layout changes but tha flag remains the same...What can be done about that?

Likely a bug in the Application that provides the icon not updating the icon correctly, if your layout is actually changing. You may wish to check your Keyboard shortcuts are correctly configured.

The settings for the keyboard settings are well configured.I 've selected alt+shift for switching layouts at System Settings->Regional & Language->Advanced.The icon and the layout changes if I click on the flag...Just when I press Alt+Shift, the icon remains the same but the layout changes...

Then this would appear to be a regression. If you are able to reproduce on a clean user ( after configuring it with your Keyboard layout ) then please file a bug at bugs.kde.org. If you cannot, then it is a damaged configuration file for your user.
