Hi!
I have the following problem with KDE 4.1 and 4.2. I am running Kubuntu 8.10. I often get windows with height that are far larger than the sceen-size, and it is not possible to resize the height. Nor does it help to change the "special application setting". This can make some applications useless or at least hard to use, since buttons often are placed outside the sceen. The problem appears for the main windows of KOrganizer and the configuration for KMail, but also for a lot of other applications (also non-K). Why does the window maker allow so large windows? Is it possible to prevent this, or is this a bug? best regards, Tomas |

I've noticed a similar behaviour - be it KDE3 or KDE4...

KWin tries it's best to keep windows entirely within the screen. The only time it cannot do this is when the application has explicitly set the minimum size of the window to be larger than the screen size. As this is a bug in the application please file bug reports against them.
There's a very old wish that requests the ability to scroll any window if it doesn't fit the screen, but it's not as easy as it sounds.
