A lot of time when I start up and app or mount a drive... etc The application window pops up on my second monitor. This is annoying to me. Is there a way make sure that the popups on start up on my primary monitor?

Could you please write which KDE version and distribution you are using? (Note: You can also specify them in your User CP)

Cheers, m

Is this the popup that contains the list of devices, or the list of actions that can be done with the device ( Import with Digikam, Browse with File Manager, etc. )

Which form of multi screen are you using? XineRama, MergedFB, or are you using the screens individually?

Assuming that the device notifier is on the first screen panel, it should popup on the first screen. If it appears on the second screen, while the device notifier is on the first ( and there is no device notifier below where the popup appears on the second ) then that is a bug.

Then it is a bug - here is a screenshot:

It's not just the device notifier... it's all popups... the ksnapshot popup window pops up over there also.

No... what seems to be happening is all new info and misc windows will pop up on the second monitor...

For instance when I open up Kompozer and the "tips" pop-up window comes up it does so on the second window. The actual application comes up on the primary monitor like it's supposed to.

When GIMP starts up the left toolbar window pops up on the second monitor... but the other two windows pop up on the primary... so on and so-forth with all the other apps.

This sounds possibly ( Given that Gimp is also affected ) a bug in KWin. Moving post to Desktop Environment & Window Manager.

Zarin: Could this be related to KWin?

Go into System Settings -> Window Behavior -> Advanced and make sure the "placement" combo box lists anything other other "zero-cornered".

No, smart is fine.

Did you compile everything with the "xinerama" USE flag?
