It might also be worth checking to see if $KDEDIR/share/apps/khotkeys/printscreen.khotkeys has the required content also.

I think that it has the required contents:
I thought that my keyboard hasn't got the traditional home-row. But that probably isn't as my screen-capture works with alt+printscreen. I just can't start KSnapshot with my printscreen. Or any other KHotKey shortcut, like ctrl+alt+T for konsole...

Just comparing the file at http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdebase ... s?view=log and yours shows many different changes. Do not know if this has anything to do with it though.
Is there anything mentioned in ~/.xsession-errors?

Well this could be the thing:
Strange I do have this file. Why isn't it finding it?

That could possibly be interfering. Try removing all of the Recent Documents:

I did, but it didn't help.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem.
Arch Linux with Kdemod 4.2 I can confirm that this issue is still present en Kdemod 3 (aka legacy) So I think it must be some missconfiguration. |

Good to hear I'm not only one. Did you posted a bug on Chakra-Project site? Should I post it?

I haven't submitted any bug reports neither started a thread at KdeMod website.
This is what I've tried so you don't lose time doing the same: Going back to KdeMod3 Installing Kde3 (vanilla) Installink Kde4(vanilla) Re-installing KdeMod4 Nothing worked. @Primoz think you should submit a bug report |

There is a workaround for this bug, it's just so that I don't have it. Before posting this bug I want to be sure if I'm the only one with it or is this the part of bug.
Workaround: On Arch forums it was suggested that I should go to System Settings --> Input Actions --> Present Actions --> PrintScreen and select "Print". But strangely I don't have it. I'm more than confused. And that's not on KDEmod KDE4.2.1 I've installed a vanilla KDE4.2.1 and I was still unable to find that. Here's how my input actions look like: Do you have this option? If so any ideas why I don't have it?

Nope, I don't have that option either, also, I don't have the konqueror gestures but that has nothing to do with it. EDIT: I think I got it, here's what I did: 1.- Open kmenuedit (alt+F2 and type kmenuedit) 2.- Select the aplication you're looking for 3.- Go to "Advanced" tab 4.- Assign a shortcut 5.- The short-cut should now be working If you have no problems with this solution, then I think it is due to a bug in kdehotkeys, so if it worked to you, submit a bug report and create a thread about a "temporary" fix. (If it worked give some credit in the thread )

xXZeroXx, you're a genius. That worked for me. Maybe that's the reason we only have Kmenuedit in input actions? Is it supposed to be done that way now or something?
