Hi guys and girls,
is it possible to set shortcuts for kmix switches? I have a switch called "Duplicate Front", which is very usefull for using a headset, which should not be switched on all the time. It would be great, if there were a possibility to set this switch to F12 or something, so that I can switch on my headset by just pressing that key. I'm on KDE3.5.10 Every help is appreciated cu

I think this can be done using amixer. For example to toggle the Master channel use something like this:
replace Master with the name of the channel you want, to find out use this command in terminal:
this will list all available controls, the channel names will be enclosed with ' ', e.g. 'Master' . Try the command in terminal first, and when you figure it out, open the KDE control centre>regional & accessibility>input actions, expand Preset Actions, then click New Action. In the General tab change "Action Type" to Keyboard Shortcut -> command url (simple). Next go to the keyboard shortcut tab and click None to assign a key. Then go to the command/url settings put the command in the box there. That's it, click apply and try the shortcut. |
