Where is Storage Media in KDE 4.2?

Wed Mar 18, 2009 1:00 am
I feel I have looked in here as much as possible and so my question is: Where is the "Storage Media" that used to be in KDE 3.x.x? I like accessing my 2 other hard drives from whichever Linux I'm in. Was it renamed or forgotten?

Later. Pepse.

Storage Media was removed during the port to KDE 4, since its original creator had dissapeared, and no one was around to port it. Your hard drives should be listed in Dolphin's "Places Panel" on the left hand side, underneath "Home", "Root", etc.

"Dolphin's Places Panel"? If you are talking about the home shaped icon next to the KDE icon there ain't no such thing there. Nor is there anything in the KDE area either.

You can put a Folder View on your desktop and point to where your partitions are mounted. You can also drag the folder containing the mount points to the desktop and change its icon.

But what if they're not mounted? Then the folder would be

I wish those partitions were in the Device Notifier so you could mount/unmount them like flash drives.

I am only offering a workaround not a fix.

Well, F9 doesn't do anything and view>panels>places cannot be found. Remember I am looking for my other 2 hard drives NOT any partitions.
