Hey,
I have a few problems that seem to occur all at the same time - or they all work perfectly. I've just updated my gentoo system from kde 4.1 to kde 4.2.1. I have also removed the .kde folders from my home folder. A: ctrl-alt-l doesn't work to lock the screen; B: alt-f2 doesn't bring up the 'run a command' bar; C: typing anything into the search bar in the slab-style menu causes the menu to freeze for ~2mins; D: changing window behaviour options also makes the window freeze for ~10 mins. E: sometimes clicking anywhere on a window will only let me move it ... and this continues till i restart X F: opening a link in konsole takes 3-4 mins Linux sonia 2.6.28-gentoo-r3 #1 SMP Sat Mar 21 00:41:26 EST 2009 i686 Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux hardware info: H/W path Device Class Description ======================================================== system NCCH-DL /0 bus NCCH-DL /0/0 memory 128KiB BIOS /0/4 processor Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz /0/4/b memory 16KiB L1 cache /0/4/d memory 2MiB L2 cache /0/4/f memory L3 cache /0/4/1.1 processor Logical CPU /0/4/1.2 processor Logical CPU /0/5 processor Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz /0/5/c memory 16KiB L1 cache /0/5/e memory 2MiB L2 cache /0/5/10 memory L3 cache /0/5/1.1 processor Logical CPU /0/5/1.2 processor Logical CPU /0/23 memory 2GiB System Memory /0/23/0 memory 512MiB DIMM DDR Synchronous /0/23/1 memory 512MiB DIMM DDR Synchronous /0/23/2 memory 512MiB DIMM DDR Synchronous /0/23/3 memory 512MiB DIMM DDR Synchronous /0/100 bridge 82875P/E7210 Memory Controller Hub /0/100/1 bridge 82875P Processor to AGP Controller /0/100/1/0 display NV44A [GeForce 6200] /0/100/3 bridge 82875P/E7210 Processor to PCI to CSA Bridge /0/100/3/1 eth0 network 82547GI Gigabit Ethernet Controller /0/100/1c bridge 6300ESB 64-bit PCI-X Bridge /0/100/1c/2 scsi0 storage AHA-2940U2/U2W /0/100/1c/2/0.0.0 /dev/sda disk 36GB SCSI Disk /0/100/1c/2/0.0.0/1 /dev/sda1 volume 3922MiB Linux swap volume /0/100/1c/2/0.0.0/2 /dev/sda2 volume 64GiB EXT3 volume /0/100/1c/2/0.d.0 /dev/sdb disk 46GB MAP3367NP /0/100/1c/2/0.d.0/1 /dev/sdb1 volume 34GiB Linux raid autodetect partition /0/100/1c/3 scsi1 storage AIC-7892B U160/m /0/100/1c/3/0.2.0 /dev/sdc disk 46GB MAP3367NP /0/100/1c/3/0.2.0/1 /dev/sdc1 volume 34GiB EXT3 volume /0/100/1c/3/0.3.0 /dev/sdd disk 46GB MAP3367NP /0/100/1c/3/0.3.0/1 /dev/sdd1 volume 34GiB EXT3 volume /0/100/1d bus 6300ESB USB Universal Host Controller /0/100/1d.1 bus 6300ESB USB Universal Host Controller /0/100/1d.4 system 6300ESB Watchdog Timer /0/100/1d.5 system 6300ESB I/O Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller /0/100/1d.7 bus 6300ESB USB2 Enhanced Host Controller /0/100/1e bridge 82801 PCI Bridge /0/100/1f bridge 6300ESB LPC Interface Controller /0/100/1f.2 scsi2 storage 6300ESB SATA Storage Controller /0/100/1f.2/0 /dev/sde disk 320GB ST3320620AS /0/100/1f.2/0/1 /dev/sde1 volume 294GiB EXT3 volume /0/100/1f.2/0/2 /dev/sde2 volume 3239MiB EXT3 volume /0/100/1f.2/1 /dev/cdrom disk CDDVDW SH-S202H /0/100/1f.3 bus 6300ESB SMBus Controller /0/100/1f.5 multimedia 6300ESB AC'97 Audio Controller |
