I work in an environment where I need to monitor multiple systems. I have a KDE 4.2.2/Linux box set up to dutifully sit and display the various monitoring application for me. What would be really cool and useful would be a way for the display to automatically shift a desktop at a prescribed interval. This would essentially multiply my monitoring capabilities without purchasing more monitors. It could simply flip automatically every few seconds to show a different set of graphs/applications. I could then just glance up and stop it if there is something that catches my eye.
Is there something in KDE that already does this or maybe an easy command that I could script? A screen saver that flips between desktops would work. Any clues? How would you approach something like this? Thanks. |

Wow, no replies. :-S
Well, if anyone else comes across this post you might be interested to know that I am having some success using a bash script with wmctrl. If I get time to work on it in more detail and get to making a friendly script I will post it here. Thanks. |
