[SOLVED] How to change file icon ?

Mon Apr 13, 2009 7:40 pm
hi

I know that files types are associated with programs to use them from
Under System preferences -> Advanced -> File association but I created myself a new file association (k3b files) and could not find any way to change the icon of .k3b files to k3b program icon, at least not in the file association place. BTW that's strange that installing k3b do not create such association, if I remember well it existed in KDE3

thanks in advance

With Dolphin in KDE4.2

Being able to set the icon using the File Associations manager is available in KDE Trunk ( to be 4.3 )

Thanks... I spent an hour trying to figure out how to to this myself until I found this post. I'm glad this feature is finally added. It really belonged under file associations right from the get-go.

If this issue has been resolved, could you please mark the thread as solved, using the "It's Solved" button beside "New Reply"? Thanks in advance.
