Hi,

I'm using KDE4.2.2 from Fedora updates testing repositary. Keyboard short-cut Ctrl+Shift+P and Ctrl+Shift+N stopped to work.

Do you know whether it is possible to set that key shortcut somewhere?
I tried System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Global Keyboard Shortcuts
but I can't find it there.

Update: Sorry,
I did not noticed this:
http://userbase.kde.org/Plasma#How_can_ ... ctivity.3F
It states that: "Unfortunately, changing these shortcuts is not possible yet."

What can you tell me to resolve the issue then?
I'm pressing that keyboard shortcut on plasma, they have different meaning in various applications of course :)

Does it work under a new user? If it does, try removing the $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/khotkeysrc

Thank you. I haven't still not resolved it.

I did not test it under new user, but I tried to rename the file khotkeysrc to khotkeysrc.bak ( better then delete, right? :) ). It did not solved it. I noticed that all plasma keyboard shortcuts does not work.

Not sure now, you may need to convince Plasma to refresh its hotkeys configuration. Testing under a new user would probably be best in determining the cause.

Hi,
so I created new user. I added activity, tried keyboard shortcuts and they don't work.
I tried to see dashboard and test keys there and no, I can't switch activities using plasma keyboard shortcuts, I have click and I don't have space for activity plasmoid. I want keyboard shortcuts back..

It is probable that either some application is preventing Plasma from getting focus ( or intercepting its shortcuts ), or the shortcuts were broken somehow in KDE 4.2.2.

Make sure that the Plasma shortcuts haven't been registered as global shortcuts somewhere else.

thank you bcooksley,

I checked global keyboard settings in KDE and I turned off every running app I could - keys still don't work. I tested with dashboard on and off.

Can anybody confirm that Plasma keyboard shortcuts work for you?
I would be glad if some Fedora users can confirm that it works or not.

Btw Keys I use the most:
Ctrl+Shift+P and Ctrl+Shift+N

They have not been working for me for some time now (Shift+Ctrl+P and Shift+Ctrl+N). Ctrl+F12 has no problems though. On OpenSUSE 11.1 KDE 4.2.2 =/

Then it seems like it is KDE bug. Ctrl+F12 works for me too.
