i have formatted and installed clean install of arch linux (thank you xorg team for breaking the intel driver once again)
so i formatted / and left /home (with /home/ash and all the hiden files with settings) as is i enter to kde and get a message from phonon - like this
you have the following devices removed intel ich 5 capture intel ich 5 playback internal pc speaker playback dont show this window again do you want me to forget about them forever ?
i choose dont show the window and dont forget the devices i have no sound in system settings the devices are shown in a kinda disabled color i mess up with kernel and modules etc and everything seems ok still no sound i add new user with same permissions as me in /etc/group and login as him he has all the sound and devices working ok i dont have i think there is kde bug here - the devices are working but my user seems to have some stuck setting that prevents kde from noticing that the devices are ok i want to report a bug but dont know what to include (i am going to delete the .files from my home to fix the problem on my computer. i'll copy them to backup to have them for the report. anything else ?) |

Can you try removing the Phonon configuration file? ( $KDEHOME/share/config/phonondevicesrc )

Yes, since it permanently forgot about your devices even though you told it not to.
