I was very comfortable with knotes, however it looks like knotes is now beeing replaced by "Desktop sticky notes" because knotes is no more working correctly on kde 4.2.2 (unable to resize notes).

But, when a Desktop sticky note is closed, I cannot get it back, and I loose the content
How can I open a note that has been closed ?

Save the note as file (from the context menu). If you drag this file onto the desktop, the note can be re-created.
