I have been trying to have mp3 /music files play automatically (sort of preview) when the mouse hovers over them. Lots of searches seem to sugget this feature is available in GNOME--Nautilus, but i have found nothing for KDE4. Is this available in Dolphin / Konqueror or any other file browser manager?
Any help would be appreciated. many thanks |

This used to be an option in KDE3. In KDE4, there are currently two ways to go about it.
1) Use the File Open dialog. Since previewing media files is a topic that was a work in progress at the time of the 4.2 release, it's partially implemented. Open a KDE application, say Dragon Player. Now, click Open Media and mouse over the file in the File Open dialog. A previewer opens up in the preview pane and plays the media file. You may need to enable the preview pane in the File Open dialog if you don't see a preview pane. Also, there's an option to let the dialog know whether to automatically play files or not. Your call. 2) Wait for KDE 4.3: http://ppenz.blogspot.com/2009/04/infor ... panel.html Currently, it looks like the preview is not automatic, but that may change, I guess.
