Hello all.
I'm a new KDE user, coming from GNOME. It was a bit difficult (and interesting) to get used to KDE and set it the way I want (and, ok, KDE 4.2.2 is buggy and that worsened the experience, but I'm diverging...). I'm trying to accept all the glitches and understand all the stuff that seem weird at the beginning, but I just discovered that the Enter key does nothing when I have an icon selected on the desktop. Oh, hold on, I just discovered that arrow keys have no effect either!

I've set the desktop to the classic "Folder" view, not the Plasma widgets view (which is cool, btw, but I'll wait a bit before trying to adapt to it). I was expecting to be able to pick an icon on the desktop by pressing arrows and moving around, and when I'm happy with the icon selected, I just hit Enter and it runs. But the arrows don't move the selection from icon to icon, and Enter does nothing, therefore the desktop is mouse-only.

I might be missing an option or something, is it just that, an option waiting to be checked?

Running a 32-bit Fedora 10.

There was a patch for this on Reviewboard, so keyboard support in Folderview will hopefully be implemented in KDE 4.3.

July 28th according to the Release Schedule.

Trunk is already frozen for feature commits, if the feature isn't implemented in trunk yet it won't make it for 4.3. Unfortunately I haven't been able to compile trunk for some time, maybe someone else can tell you if it's implemented of not.

Hm... Well, I hope other more important things have been fixed for 4.3 too. But we'll see. Thanks Hans!

In standard folder view mode using all arrow keys and the enter key work to navigate the folder view on my Trunk installation.
