Hello,
i use KDE 4.1 from Suse 11.1 with a LCD TV with 40 Zoll and a resolution of 1360x768. For first all in KDE was very big. So i set the font size to 6 or 8. Now it is better. But some Apps have still problems. For example the installation wizard when i start amarok the first time is a lot higher than my screen (about 4x) with very big font. But like i said i set all to 6-8 size. I know that this is no KDE app, but perhaps it gifes a idea what is wrong: In firefox also the graphics of the pages are very big. For example the logo on http://www.opensuse.org/de/ is about 4x bigger than in konqueror. I wonder about that, because what has the webbrowser to do with the size of a graphic? Have you an idea what the problem could be? Thank you Stolzi |

Your Xwindows may not be set up correctly, I have been chasing a similar but different problem for a week.
Try running xranr with no parameters, just type 'xrandr' in a terminal. It will give you a listing of available modes for your terminal and tell you which one you are set for. The man page for xrandr gives some examples of usage. I don't know much about the command because in previous versions of xwindows the configuration information was kept in a file called X11R6.conf in the /etc/X11 directory and I just came upon xranr while working on my problem, but it does allow configuring the screen in much the same way as editing XF86.conf, which no longer exists. |

If I remember correctly, SUSE shipped Amarok from KDE 3 with that release. You may wish to install kdebase-kde3 and ensure the same settings are present in KControl.

I encountered this problem. You have a widescreen TV and with no standard definition, it is the curve, especially in analog mode! First you need to install the proprietary video card drivers and fix the configuration file Xorg, making the picture via the digital output.
