[KWallet] bug or missing file?

Sat May 16, 2009 7:52 pm
hello,

I have gentoo and KDE 4.2.3 on it. When opening KWallet I get a message:
"Wystąpił błąd podczas otwierania portfela The name org.kde.kwalletd was not provided by any .service files." The first words mean "there's a bug while opening the wallet".

I don't know if it's a bug so I write to you (otherwise I would tell guys from bugzilla).
So, please let me know what to do, ok? :)

thanks in advance :)

Did you install KDE into the same prefix you installed DBus?

thanks for a reply :)

In Gentoo's flags there is a flag called "-prefix" but I don't use it so my installation is standard. :)

I have just checked my system, and it turns out that there is no DBus service file either, which means which ever means KDE uses to launch "kwalletd" are not working on your system.

I would recommend filing a bug report at bugs.kde.org since otherwise it can't automatically recover if it has crashed or was killed.
