Using KDE4.2

I would like to know if an action restrictions can be applied via the users $home/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals file. ??

I have inserted the following settings into this file but it has no effect on the desktop for that user. ie the run command is still available via the desktop rmb.

[KDE Action Restrictions][$i]
run_command=false

I would like to know if this should work, or not. I have seen Action Restrictions applied by a KDE-Profile but am unsure if the same restrictions can be applied more directly via the users kdeglobals file.

TIA

I do not know if it is applied instantly, you may need to log off and login again. Note that adding restrictions to users desktop configuration is not recommended since users will be able to remove files, and therefore the restrictions.

KDE requires read / write access to all subdirectories of $KDEHOME ( ~/.kde/ usually ) to function.
