Hi
I installed KDE 4.3 beta and so far I really like it. But there are a few things that bother me. Is there any possibility to hide icons in systray as it was possible in 4.2? There seem to be only options for notifications. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that I have to double click on icons in systemsettings. Wasn't that a single click before and how can I change it? Thanks David

yes - right click system tray -> system tray settings -> auto hide -> select icon to hide note: for me the setting is lost at the restart of kde4 for single vrs double clicking see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/ubuntu/d ... es-in-kde/

After how many days will they hide? Sorry for the sarcasm but it does not work. All icons are selected but only a few are hidden. Opera, Skype and Kopete for example do not hide. Regarding your link, that is not what I mean. I don't want to double click on the configuration icons in systemsettings. In dolping single click is the default.

1) Opera hides for me as will everything else in my tray (not running skype or kopete)
2) I can single click in system settings (fyi Dolphin has it's own mouse click setting) and the setting in the article referenced shows where the single vrs double click setting is, just select the single option |

Works for me, although the systray is annoying in another way for me. For some reason, two icons (and always the same two - klipper and knemo) don't always show up upon login. Neither shown or hidden. If I logout and in again, they're usually there. Anyone else noticed that as well, or should I consider it a quirk of my system...

Just found out that the bespin theme uses double click as default at least in systemsettings for some reason. Activating the control "behave rather mac-ish" re-enables the kde default.
Icons in the systemtray are not hiding no matter what I try. The only thing that hides is the korganizer reminder icon. After restarting the plasma applet, the opera icon is gone. I will have an eye on that but if it continues I will file a bug report.

@drabs - have you tried:
other themes? deleting out your plasma rc files plasmarc and plasma-appletrc? might help |

re: system tray icon hiding - today's update *kde4.3 beta 2 (?) appears to have resolved my problem of remembering which icons to auto hide between kde4 restarts
