My problem is that it seems that KDE does not start on one of my displays. I have two nvidia cards 8600GT and 8400GS, on the 8600 card i have two monitors configured as twinview, and on the 8400 card i have one configured as a separate display. but in stead of KDE on the 8400 monitor all i get is a black screen.
I figured KDE was not started for that display so i set the display variable to the second display (0.1) and ran startkde, however i was rewarded with a "it seems that kde is already running on this display" message. Im running archlinux with a config file generated by nvidia-settings. Most other windowmanagers seems to be working fine. What am i doing wrong? Thanks in advance and Best Regards from Johan B. |

This kind of setup requires multihead support, which is not currently supported in KDE 4.x even in trunk. Xinerama setups are the only currently supported multi monitor method available.
You should be able to run "DISPLAY=:0.1 kwin &" which may get you a Window Manager on that display. However you will not be able to run Plasma on it.
