Hi all!
I've noticed that everytime I try to resize a Plasma panel or when I change the theme, my desktop icons rearrange themselves like "Sort by name" or something. Normally I have them grouped by their meanings, in the corners of the desktop (work, multimedia, folders, etc), but with every slight change, they get themselves back to a shapeless, default bunch to the left. This looks like a bug, and I want to know if there is any configuration file where icon positions are saved, so I can have a back-up of it whenever I want to change something on my desktop. I've been searching like crazy in my home folder, but to no avail. Apparently, in KDE 3, there was a file ~/.kde/share/kdesktop/IconPosition, but in KDE4 I can't seem to find the kdesktop folder, or anything that might be related to icon positions. Where are they stored? Using KDE 4.2.3, in Fedora 10, 32 bit. Cheers! |

Plasma took over in KDE 4, thus the KDesktop folder will no longer exist.
This is likely a bug in Folder View, which can be reported at bugs.kde.org. Please try and reproduce with trunk first if you can. Icon position data will likely be stored in $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/plasma-appletsrc
