Lost USB Drive

Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:01 pm
That's a poor title for the subject, but can't think of anything else.
Normally when I click on the system icon on the desktop it will show me the hard drive partitions and any USB drives which are plugged-in.

Now when I click on the icon a message box appears which is titled

"Error-KIO Exec
Malformed URL System:/."

Have tried restarting the system to no avail.

Help, have stuff stored that I really need to access!

Which version of KDE are you using? It sounds like you recently moved from KDE 3 to KDE 4 ( which doesn't have a system:/ KIO slave )

If you did, then you can open Dolphin, which displays a list of connected media on its panel, or you can use the Device Notifier Plasma applet.
