I don't use that desktop in a window, instead I have a full desktop, and I have no intention of switching back. It destroys the whole quality of KDE 4.x look to do so. Some issues have cropped up with this that were not there prior to the upgrade and I thought I'd report them and see if anyone had similar issues.

When I upgraded to KDE 4.3 RC2 I found that the icons (on the desktop), when I click on them, they jump and distort. After I let go of the click and then click on the desktop they go back to normal. Another problem is that the system tray, which is what you guys had a serious problem with in the past, is also all distorted again. Behind the icons normally present in the system tray are distorted icons which represent some unknown object. The sound mixer icon is HUGE while others such as the simplify media and the skype icons are normal. There's also an orangish icon which looks to represent a "hacked" off icon supposedly representing wireless signals emanating from the center out (even though wireless isn't an feature of this computer). There's also an icon in the system tray that looks like a dark light bulb except that when you click or right click nothing happens.

The STasks taskbar plasmoid, though a 3rd party item, no longer works properly. You can find the plasmoid and see it is there but none of the windows show up in the taskbar.

I know you will say this is just a factor of it being a 3rd party plasmoid, but we aren't in the early stages of KDE 4.x any longer this is a few iterations in. It shows that you guys aren't afraid to break other people's work. I worry about the impunity with which you did it.

I rin KDE 4.3 RC3, and I see no such problems... What distro do you use? Could you post some screenshots?

I also cannot reproduce. Using KDE Trunk, with Intel graphics.

I definitely have these problems. They are visible and clear as day. Maybe the authors of KDE should look at various themes and icon sets. Yes, people do use custom themes and icon sets. And, they need to make it work with them all, especially those that worked prior to their updates.

The theme does not have any effect, since the underlying problem is in the System Tray applet.
