First of all I want to say 95% of everything seems to be working correctly and out-of-the-box. Great Job!

I have dual monitors and am running desktop effects without compiz fusion. I am using nVidia 177.70 driver and Mandriva 2009 2.6.27-desktop586-0.rc8.2mnb kernel

I do not have thumbnail previews in the taskbar
The upper right corner widget tools are both (one for each desktop) located on the left monitor (set up as monitor 2)

If you can, update to 177.80, they're much better.

Unfortunateely I think they're gone in 4.1 and will be back in 4.2. Some distribution have backported the features, but not many.

Multi monitor support is still lacking in various ways. I have this bug too. Wrok in ongoing for KDE 4.2 about this.

knsapshot via print screen key problem could be caused by the extremely problematic khotkeys

I have them working on my office machine, though i have neither mandriva nor nvidia.

But it's true that tooltips in Plasma are not part of upstream KDE 4.1. They've been re-added shortly after though, and will be part of KDE 4.2.
