I have KDE 3.5.10
When I click the 'home' button, which is equivalent to kfmclient openProfile filemanagement Konqueror hangs forever. On the same computer, Konqueror works flawlessly on another account. I looked for the config files under ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/profiles. Unfortunately, I only found my custom profiles there, not the default ones, among them the one called 'filemanagement', which opens my 'home' directory. Maybe that profile is corrupted. In that case, maybe copying the config file from another account on the computer might fix my konqueror filemanagement functions. Thanks for reading this ![]() |

It happened to me once, had to do with some security setting, but for the life of me I cannot remember where. I recall that somehow root had become owner of something that should belong to the user, so you might want to check there.

You may wish to test under a new user. If it functions correctly there, then run the following in your $HOME directory:
KDE Sysadmin
