I am trying to configure "automatic start" in systemsettings as root, but when I type systemsettings as root I receive the following error message: <unknown program name>(12518)/: KUniqueApplication: Cannot find the D-Bus session server

I am not an expert in linux and I don't know what could I do to fix this problem. I use Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring and the last kde 4.xx version for this mandriva OS version. Can someone help me? I beg your perdon for my poor English, but I am a Brasilian guy and I speak Portuguese as my native language.

You need to use the command "sudo dbus-launch systemsettings" to execute System Settings as root. Note that this is not supported under any circumstances, and may cause issues for the permissions of your personal users configuration files.

Mandriva doesn't have sudo installed by default. For graphical kde4 apps use:
Code: Select all
su -

notice the extra - after su.
