This is how I would call my problem in lack of any better description. I think a screenshot will serve best to describe what happens any time I start dolphin, ever since I started 4.3 for the first time:
![]() Another dolphin window frame opens except it is empty. Here is what I get when I start from console:
I renamed dolphinrc to see if that was where the problem was, but the behavior didn't change. I'll be happy about any help I can get as this is starting to get on my nerves.

Are there any harmful effects if you try to close the window?

Ah, no, that works the normal way. Nothing seems to be wrong with the frame except that it is - there.
How interesting! The problem disappeared after I removed the dolphin strigi search box. This is my theory why: I had tried out the search box before, but realized that it wasn't displaying properly. It would show when I enabled it, but when I restarted dolphin, it would have disappeared (even though it was still listed as active) - no matter if strigi was activated or not. So I gave up on it and didn't bother deactivating the search box. Then yesterday, when I first posted this, I noticed that there was a Nepomuk-related error in the console report, so I disabled the search bar altogether. Now the problem is gone and the terminal output is this:
