Yeah, whenever I load Firefox (3.5.2) it opens using exactly half the vertical space on my screen. I want it to start maximized. I have KDE 4.3 and use Kwin with compositing effects, but it does the same thing if the effects are disabled. Is there any way to make it start maximized? It always started maximized when I used Openbox.

Assuming you are using KWin:
Right click on Window Decoration > Advanced > Special Application Settings. Tick "Maximized Horizontally" and "Maximized Vertically" and set them to "Apply Initally".

Another method is that you could open it then align it with the top left hand corner, then grab the lower right corner and stretch it, when you reach the far right side let it and it'll maximize itself, it should remember the size and start maximized from now on.
